“Kulinda runner”A plant-eater with feather-like fuzz, suggesting all dinosaurs could grow feathers
Overview
Kulindadromeus is a genus of basal neornithischian dinosaur that lived during the Middle Jurassic. The first Kulindadromeus fossil was found in Russia. Its feather-like integument is evidence for protofeathers being basal to Ornithischia and possibly Dinosauria as a whole, rather than just to Coelurosauria, as previously suspected.

Why it matters
- Described in 2014 from Siberia with scales on the tail and feet but filaments elsewhere.
- Because it is far from the bird line, feathers may have been ancestral to all dinosaurs.
- Hundreds of bones from a single lake deposit in Transbaikalia.
